About Us
The Mississippi Beta chapter of Pi Beta Phi was founded on March 10, 1962, in Oxford, Mississippi. The installation ceremony was held at the Continuation Center at the University of Mississippi following the initiation of the chapter’s founding members. What began as a small group of women united by shared values and a vision for sisterhood has since grown into one of the most influential organizations on campus. Over the decades, Mississippi Beta has continued to flourish while remaining deeply rooted in the principles established by our founders. Today, the chapter proudly holds the distinction of being the largest Pi Beta Phi chapter, home to more than 600 active members. Despite this growth, the heart of our sisterhood remains unchanged. We continue to uphold Pi Beta Phi’s core values in all that we do. As friends and leaders for life, the Mississippi Beta chapter seeks to lead by example each day. Whether through serving our local community, supporting one another in times of need, or celebrating each other’s successes, we are united by a shared commitment to sincere friendship and sisterhood. We are proud of our rich history and excited to continue building upon the legacy established in 1962 for generations of Pi Phis to come.
